An observation about "Casino Royale" and James Bond

Just a quick one so that I can say I've posted something here before February gets too far along. I'm on my way out the door right now, though I can't not share this keen little observation from Warren Ellis (yeah, I know, right? Warren Ellis):
In CASINO ROYALE, James Bond is the Bond girl. Look at the way they even show him emerging from the ocean like Ursula Andress. Sexual torture, too, if less creepy-glam than being stripped and painted gold. Vesper Lynd is Bond: never not in control, never without a plan, seducing to further her goals. She has to die so Bond can become her.
Next time I'll watch the movie through a new lens.
